To the Viewers

1. This blog is meant to be examined through the lens of racism, prejudice, fear, and/or a combination of them. One idea has the ability to become a catastrophic event.
2. Please start with the oldest post (The Idea) first and work to the newest post (Justice?). It will make more sense that way
3. Click on the pictures or where it says "Click here for more" to explore websites that will give you more in depth background and knowledge about the event in the blog.
4. When you finish, what other events in human history can you think of where a combination of racism, prejudice, and fear have played a role?

  1. Segregation was definitely an event within the United States history where a combination of racism, prejudice, and fear all played a role. If it were not for those three elements, there would have not been this 'bad mark' in our history.

  2. So many people think that these dark times, such as the Holocaust, are behind us in history but today there are still mass genocides going on in foeign countries due to religious and cultural differences.

The camps set up by the US for Japanese citizens after Pearl Harbor is another example of racism and prejudice because the government assumed that all Japanese were untrustworthy.

  3. before the holocaust even occurred, jews were persecuted all throughout europe. They asked to live in certain areas, sometimes they were denied. They were often kicked out of their homes. They became bankers and lenders of money because they couldn't own property (plus the christian religion didnt allow that). So yea, this was happening way before the holocaust for the jews.
